The prompt word was "blue."
Rating: PG-13 (for a bit of light innuendo ;) )
Length: 947
Spoilers: None.
Disclaimer: Not mine or you can bet there would've been happy endings for everybody!
A/N: Just a bit of silliness to help get my fic muses going again. Unbeta'ed, so all mistakes are mine. ;)

"DOCTOR!"

Donna's thunderous roar sent the Doctor bursting through her bedroom door and then into the steamy bathroom, expecting to find something attempting to drag her down the drain. Again.

Honestly, who could've predicted that drain monsters could hide themselves so efficiently in an ordinary bar of soap that they eluded even the TARDIS' sensors?

But instead he found her clad in a pink towel, drenched and looking as furious as a soggy kitten.

"What? What is it?" he asked, giving a hasty glance around the room and not finding any obvious cause of alarm.

"Do you not notice anything unusual here, Doctor?" she said, gesturing sharply at herself with one hand while clutching the towel hastily tucked across her breasts with the other.

"You're naked?" he said, though technically she wasn't since she was concealed by the towel. He assumed, though, that she was naked underneath it. Though why that would really be classified as "unusual" given that she had clearly just stepped out of the shower, he wasn't sure.

"Anything else catching your attention?" she asked curtly.

"Wet? You're naked and wet?" he guessed since they seemed to be playing State The Obvious.

"My. Hair. Is. Blue," she said, biting off each word individually and giving a flip to the ends of her presently dark cerulean locks.

"Of course! You changed your hair. Bold choice, that sort of color," he said, nodding in a supportive manner.

"I didn't change it," she snapped. "It turned this way after I used that new shampoo!"

She pointed at the tall, white bottle just visible on a shelf past the frosted glass doors. His eyebrows quirked upwards.

"You washed your hair with that?" he said incredulously. "Why?"

"Well, it's in the shower, it says 'shampoo' on it in big, block letters… Silly me, why would I think it might be for washing hair?" she returned in a mocking tone.

"It doesn't say 'shampoo,' Donna!" he exclaimed. "It says 'shampo.' Only one 'o,' didn't you notice?"

"I thought it was a typo." She gave a dismissive wave of one hand. "Thought you must've picked it up on a discount planet or something. So what's shampo, then?"

"It's lubricant," he said. "I must've left it there this morning."

Her mouth dropped in disbelief and her eyebrows, also tinted blue, shot towards the top of her head. "What were you doing in my shower with a bottle of lube? Or do I even want to know?"

"It's for the TARDIS," he spluttered. "Everything require a bit of maintenance from time to time. You wouldn't want me to neglect oiling your pipes, now would you?"

After the fact, the Doctor realized the gesture he'd made – the utterly innocent, work-related hand gesture – might not have been completely appropriate at the moment. He cringed, bracing for an epic slap.

But Donna merely shook her head. "Any other bloke..." she muttered, then made a shooing motion. "Fine, just get out while I find some real shampoo with two 'o's' and wash this gunk out of my hair."

"Uhhhh, about that…"

"What? It will wash out, won't it?" Her tone grew increasing more shrill.

"Shampo bonds at a molecular level. It's quite clever, really! You see, to combat friction, the atoms convert to—"

"I don't want a lesson in lube science right now, you prawn! I want to know that I'm not going to have oh-so-very blue hair for the rest of my life!"

"'Course not!" he assured her. "Don't be silly. Even shampo has a limited lifespan and—"

"How long?"

"—in no time you'll see that royal color fade to what will probably be a very lovely cobalt. Did you know that the concept of cobalt blue was actually introduced from a visiting ambassador from—?"

"Doctor! I said, how long?"

"Probablynotmorethanamonth," he exhaled in a jumbled rush.

"A month?" she bellowed and he could've sworn he heard the Cloister Bell chime just a bit.

"Honestly, it'll be gone before you know it," he said quickly, holding up both hands in a placating gesture. "There are hundreds of worlds where beings would kill to have hair that sort of beautiful blue! Though we'll, you know, try to avoid the ones where they literally do kill over hair that color."

Her mouth opened and closed a few times, then she turned towards the mirror and plucked thoughtfully at the dark, glistening strands trailing over her shoulders. "Don't suppose dye—?"

"Nope." At her crestfallen expression, he said, "Donna, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I promise that in the future I'll practice safe pipe-oiling techniques at all times. If there was anything I could—"

"I want another TARDIS driving lesson," she said immediately.

"But..."

"Another driving lesson, spaceman, or I'm telling everybody that you turned my hair blue on purpose. With lube. With freaky alien lube."

"It was an accident!"

She crossed her arms and stared down his reflection in the mirror.

He scrunched up his face a few times. She arched a blue brow. He sighed.

"All right, fine. One more lesson," he relented and she grinned.

"Let me just get dressed and we'll go for a nice spin through time and space," she said, briskly shooing at him again as she started to undo the towel.

He turned away, thinking, I wonder if I should warn her that shampo stains any hair it comes in passing contact with, even in the slightest amount?

But then Donna's indignant squawk and the crack of the towel against his posterior assured him it probably wasn't necessary.

Written for hibernate as a thank you for her bid on me during the Support Stacie auction. Ahem, yes, the April one. Sorry for taking so long! The prompt was Ten and Donna, double entendres (bonus points for including Jack somehow, in person or just referenced).
Rating: PG-13 (for innuendo)
Length: 678
Spoilers: None. This exists in a happy place where neither the last few minutes of "Journey's End" nor any of Torchwood "Children of Earth" ever occurred. ;)
Disclaimer: Not mine or you can bet there would've been happy endings for everybody!
A/N: I've been on a 3 month streak of writer's block, yikes! So this is my "easing my way back into writing with a bit of silly Ten/Donna shenanigans" ficlet. ;) Unbeta'ed, all mistakes are mine. ;)

Flat on his back, tucked in under the TARDIS console grating, the Doctor stuck his sonic screwdriver between his teeth and started sorting through a gaggle of loose wires. Above him, Donna entered, chatting away on her mobile. He noted her presence absently, his mind already deep into the planned reconfiguration of the delicate trans-interdimensional stabilizers, until her throaty laughter caught his attention.

"So exactly how big are we talking about?" she said and her voice had an unexpected husky edge that made him juggle the wires for a few frantic seconds, narrowly avoiding disaster. He lost hold of the screwdriver and it thudded to the deck beside him with a distinctive clink. He went still, waiting to be found out.

"Oh now, you're having me on," Donna said, apparently oblivious to the Time Lord under her feet as she strolled to the opposite side of the console. "It couldn't possibly be that– Well, you know what they say, a picture's worth a thousand words, Captain. Let's see it."

Jack? he mouthed silently.

And indeed, the far away, tinny buzz of Jack Harkness's voice floated down to him, his flirty tone unmistakable even though he couldn't distinguish the individual words.

"Oh, come on now, all talk and no action?" Donna said, equally flirtatious. "Snap a quick one and send it to me, I dare you. Oh, most certainly I did just dare you!"

She gave that husky laugh again and the Doctor twitched, barely avoiding yet another catastrophic clash of wires. His tie felt abnormally tight but he couldn't spare a hand to loosen it, not without the rather noisy process of returning the wires to their separate compartments.

"I bet it's big and strong and manly, isn't it?" she continued. "Can it go all night? I'm a girl who appreciates stamina, you know."

Her voice curled around him in a sultry purr and abruptly his tie was no longer the only article of clothing that felt too tight. Now, enough of that, he thought sternly, redirecting his focus to the live wires clutched perilously close together in his hands right above him. You're hardly some hormonal teenager, now, are you?

"Oh, I like it rough, don't you worry," Donna swore passionately. "Mmm, all that thrusting and thrashing until you don't even know if you can take anymore? Oh God, it's so good!"

All in all, the Doctor later reflected, the explosion wasn't nearly as major as it could've been.

"Gotta go, Jack. He just blew himself up," she said. "Absolutely, it's a date. Can't wait to go 'off-roading' in that new vehicle of yours and you can put it through its paces for me. No, he didn't regenerate, he's fine."

He released the burned wires then wiggled out from under the console as she disconnected from her call and came around to peer at him through the opening in the grating.

"You're a bit on fire," she pointed out helpfully and he quickly smacked at the sparks sending up wisps of smoke from the charred places on his shirt.

"So," he said casually as he looked up at her, running his hands through his hair to check for anything else that might be smoldering. "Knew I was here all the time, hm?"

"Well, you're not exactly invisible down there, sunshine," she said with a grin. "I was pretty sure those skinny legs belonged to somebody! Plus where else would you be with your jacket right here in the floor? Thought if you were going to eavesdrop, I might as well give you a few juicy double entendres to chew on!"

"Double entendres? That was more like out and out innuendo! No, no, that," he corrected, pointing at her, "that was perilously close to phone sex, Donna Noble!"

"I wasn't having phone sex with Captain Jack," she tsked.

He opened his mouth to say, Well, I should say not! but before he could speak, she reached a hand down to help him up.

"Not this time, anyway," she said with a wink and he uttered a slight, wordless squeak as she sauntered away.

First of all, a quick overview of the show, courtesy of the official site. ;)

In Plain Sight is an all-new crime drama from USA Network starring Mary McCormack as Mary Shannon, a U.S. Marshal attached to the highly secretive Federal Witness Protection Program (WITSEC). While Mary loves her job, she knows better than anyone that it's not easy leading a double life—especially since getting shot at on a regular basis is all in a day's work.

Mary Shannon, who is based in the greater Albuquerque/Santa Fe area, protects and manages relocated Federal Witnesses who come from all over the country. The witnesses under her care can be anything from career criminals, congenital liars, thieves and murderers to those who have had the misfortune of witnessing or falling victim to a crime. For the innocents, testifying means leaving behind everything and everyone they know, cutting off all contact, changing identities and relocating to the unfamiliar southwest to build a new life as the reward for their good deed. But no matter what walk of life—or what side of the law—these people come from, they all have one thing in common: Someone wants them dead.

Luckily, Mary doesn't have to bear the burden of this huge responsibility alone. Along with her partner, Marshall Mann (Fred Weller) who couldn't be more her polar opposite, Mary helps her witnesses establish new lives—with varying degrees of success or satisfaction on the witnesses' part—while protecting them from a myriad of threats ranging from people seeking revenge or trying to thwart the course of justice to the traumas of everyday life. While Mary and Marshall spend a good portion of their time bantering and disagreeing about most things, they make a great team that always gets the job done.

Now, this is in no way an comprehensive show overview that's about to follow, the emphasis is on Mary and Marshall's relationship. I admittedly used to ship Mary/Raphael, who's a nice guy and I do like him:

But after the final couple of episodes of season 2, I suddenly developed a HUGE Mary/Marshall shipper crush, what can I say? ;) So I've been going back over the s1 eps and just going D'OH, how did I NOT think there was a bunch of shippy Mary/Marshall moments here? ;) So, basically, this is a bit of a vid spam/picspam (kinda light on both, sorry, because I didn't take time to do a lot of capping and I didn't want to try your patience by putting up hundreds of clips ;) ) with an unashamed focus on some of my favorite moments between Mary and Marshall.

I love the fact that Mary is the brawn of the relationship and Marshall is the brains, lol! ;) He's an unabashed geek, full of esoteric trivia and obscure bits of knowledge and he's also one of the few people that she lets past the tough, brash exterior she hides behind. That's one of the few reasons that I think he would never actively pursue a romance with her, even if the playing field was completely clear: he understands her, how she's emotionally damaged enough that she'll eventually sabotage pretty much EVERY romantic relationship. But as her friend, he can love her forever and be loved by her in return. *unrequited love fangirly sigh* Poor Marshall. *pets him* ;) I know they'll never put them together on the show without ruining their friendship so my hope is that they wait until they know they show is going to end, THEN let them have a "sail off into the sunset happy ending" sort of thing together. ;) Yes, I really AM that big of a sap, lol! ;)

Anyway, I'm trying zshare's embedding option so you hopefully won't have to hop over to zshare directly to stream the clips. If you try it out, let me know if it works, if you would? ;) It's not showing up right now as I preview this entry, so I've included a direct link as well. *crosses fingers that all this uploading wasn't for naught* ;)

ETA: Well, I'm not seeing any embedded clips, despite the fact that the code's right frickin' there... >:[ It must not work for LJ, piffle! Sorry 'bout that, then!

1x03

Let's start with Marshall doing his best to put his eyes back in his head... ;)

http://www.zshare.net/video/64152899cc7adf7a/

*gigglesnort* I love the way he's literally squirming in his seat there, lol! ;)

1x03, part 2

Later in that same episode, a kiss is just a plot-necessary kiss: ;) Yep. *nods* ;)

http://www.zshare.net/video/63949261391ef397/

I love that split-second of shocked reaction from him, then he totally gets into it, only to end up all BZUH? when she shoves him away. I love Marshall in this whole scene, from that look he gets when she keeps covertly signaling him to holster his gun to his explanation as to why he can't catch the other suspect, "Despite my athletic prowess and my eagerness to please you, I cannot outrun a horse." And then his whole attempt at nonchalance "What kiss?"..."What do you want me to say? I'm a guy; it's what we do!" just endeared him to me from then on out! ;)

1x04

In the very next episode, Marshall gets shot :( leading to a discussion where she questions him on why he's considering leaving the Marshal service: (and yes, this means he's a Marshal named Marshall, if you haven't noticed that by now... ;) However, that's not why he's thinking about leaving. :P ;) )

http://www.zshare.net/video/64153659d1e3d8a1/

I loved their interactions through all of the scenes (these bunches of clips were about double this length originally because I loved so much of it but I finally decided to just cut it down to the heart of the matter, hence no gunfight, etc.). But the thing that I didn't notice when I originally watched the final scene in this set is at that moment when she tells him, "That's your job and you cannot quit," I was originally so busy kinda chuckling over how unexpected it was that she said that, that I totally missed his reaction to the kiss she gives his cheek. His eyes briefly close, his lips part... *fangirly sigh*

2x13

Late in season 2, Raphael and Mary get engaged, something she doesn't tell Marshall right away. But once he finds out, though he's clearly struggling with his own feelings, he still manages to respond back with what she needs to hear.

http://www.zshare.net/video/6415439045191b99/

Gahhhh, that toast he makes at the end of the ep just slays me! He tells her that he loves her, yet puts it in such a way that it's not a statement of romantic love, "I'm in love with you" (though by now I think we can all be pretty sure that's also true ;) and Mary's reaction makes me think she knows that as well but she's not really wanting to face it at this point).

And yes, in case you noticed him trying her engagement ring in that first scene, he DID end up with it stuck on there the entire episode until Eleanor (the office manager whom we see in this scene along with Stan, Mary and Marshall's WITSEC superior) is able to get it loose with some dental floss and hand lotion (yep, almost included that part of the scene as well but cut it for time constraints ;) ).

2x15

2x15, season 2 finale SPOILER WARNING, just in case... ;)

*now with 10% more scrolling* ;)

In a turnaround from 1x04, this time Mary is the one who's shot, with much more immediate and devastating consequences than Marshall's wound was. She's brought in with no pulse and not breathing.

http://www.zshare.net/video/6415526741d50a8f/

Poor Marshall and his quivering voice "...all great fighters have it. Right up to the minute they're beaten" and that kiss to her forehead and then the way he even takes time to comfort Raphael. *wibbles* And so this season ends with Mary's fate uncertain (well, since the show's returning in Spring 2010, we can probably be assured she's not going to die but they may have her have some sort of complications from her injuries that may interfere with her being able to return to work right away or in some sort of diminished capacity that she'll have to overcome).

Welp, if you read, watched, skimmed or scanned, hopefully you enjoyed my little fangirl tour through Mary and Marshall's awesomeness (please feel free to take your complimentary shipper goggles with you as you depart :P ;) )!

♥♥♥!!!

Whether you call that side the Valeyard or just simply imagine it as the Doctor as filtered through the lens of the Master, that's the story I tried to tell with this vid. ♥!

Master list of all of my vids (multi-fandom)

Because I still have a few things in progress that have been requested or otherwise promised, I wanted to sticky this here:

1. to show that I do eventually get things done that I've promised to do. ;)
2. so that if I've forgotten something, you can hopefully remind me and I'll add it in. I occasionally have memory!fail so I figured it couldn't hurt to have a way to be reminded, lol! *blush*

ETA: September 5, 2009
As of right now, I'm no longer taking new requests as much as I dearly love to do them. But the past few months of real life have been quite rough on me and I've mostly lost all inspiration for both fics and vids except for in weird, random, rather scatter-shot ways. :S And it definitely bugs me to know that I've left people hanging when I've promised to do something for them.

So, of those that are left on the lists, I'll be looking everything over with a practical eye to whether or not I can really (and sometime in the near future) manage to do them in a way that does justice to the original request. If I feel like I can't, then I'll contact you to let you know. If I don't contact you, then that means I'm going to continue to try to make some headway on your request. Cross your fingers for me and wish me luck! ;)

Hopefully there will come a point again where I one day feel confident enough to accept a request and feel like I can honestly do it. But right now... I'm just not there yet. "Isn't this fun?"

Donna, now with said globby pudding splattered across her chest, gave the back of his head an incredulous look. Part of a parfait was dribbling down the side of her face and she suspected there was frosting adorning her ponytail.

"Fun isn't exactly the word I'd—" she began as a huge dollap of meringue seemed to curve around his pristine brown pinstripes to strike the front of her pale pink blouse with a vaguely obscene noise. "Oi, why is it only hitting me?"

"Don't be ridiculous," he tutted. "Look, I have a drop of lemon custard on my sleeve! No, wait, that's just a speck of lint. Well, I almost had a drop of lemon custard on my sleeve, at any rate."

She exhaled heavily, reminding herself that murder really was morally reprehensible. Then she spotted something on the table next to her. "Doctor, would you care for some banana crème pie?" she asked in a thoroughly innocent tone.

"Oh, absolutely," he said brightly. "I'd love a bit of banana cr—"

As he turned, she gave it to him. Immediately.

2.

Donna sat back, wiping her mouth on her hand, and looked speculatively up at the Doctor who was breathing hard, sprawled across the console chair. The alarmingly maroon color suffusing his face was gradually returning to normal.

If any other bloke had come rushing into a room and asked her for what he'd asked her for, she would've laughed in his face or decked him. Or both. But one look at him on the verge of a Time Lord brain spasm or some other dire alien thing and she'd just shoved him onto the chair and immediately given it to him.

"So," she finally said. "A 'medically necessary blowjob,' seriously?"

"Well, you see," he said, tucking himself back into his trousers and zipping up, "I had no idea those Esstarian spores we encountered would have such a potent effect on my physiology or I would've—"

"That was this morning," she scoffed. "Is that why you've been locked away all this time? Should I even ask what you've been doing? Or should I just get you a glass of water for the dehydration?"

"Donna! I was working on an antidote," he said, sounding slightly offended. "I wasn't off having... bouncy fun alone time, thank you very much! I thought I'd figured out the correct dosage but it turns out that it required a bit more of a—" he cleared his throat "—helping-hands approach. I'm so sorry, so very, very sorry. I never expected it to—"

She dismissively waved him off before he could Go There and turn this into something awkward between them. "Eh, you'd do the same for me. Look at how you held my hair back while I was spewing up that rainbow-colored junk last week. You're right, you know, sometimes a hamburger is not just a hamburger. Anyway, you can make it up to me."

His expression was halfway between worried and intrigued. "How?" he asked.

"Shopping."

"Shopping?" he repeated, arching a brow. "For what?"

"Kneepads," she said with a wink. "This grating is killing my knees! Now, help me up, you prawn, and let's go find some sporeless, hamburgerless planet to explore, hm?"

3.

She was halfway into a well-stocked rack in the TARDIS' extensive wardrobe, hoping to find a dressy pair of trousers to match the cute eyelet blouse she'd just discovered, when the Doctor's voice drew her out.

"Donna, look at what I found!"

He was standing in front of the full-length mirror, his usual pinstripes shed in favor of an outfit that seemed to have been cobbled together from no less than half a dozen other sets of clothes. Stripes, plaids and polka dots warred and clashed in a kaleidoscope of colors that made her feel slightly dizzy the longer she looked at it.

He twisted this way and that, admiring his reflection, and Donna grabbed hold of the clothing rack to keep from falling over from a wave of vertigo. She noted with surprise that there actually was a pair of trousers in the universe that could make his skinny bum look perilously close to big.

"I haven't seen this in years!" he said enthusiastically.

She made a noncommittal noise, thinking that the TARDIS might have given it a little "help" in getting lost.

"It really does have panache, doesn't it?" he went on, preening. "Come on now, let's have it. What do you think? Honest opinion."

Well, since he asked... She gave him her opinion in immediate and very thorough detail. She even managed to keep the crowing laughter and pithy comments to what she thought was a very respectable minimum.

He pouted for the rest of the day.

4.

"They're doing what to you?" Donna asked through the sizzle of the invisible force field.

The Doctor started to gesture then visibly thought better of it and kept his hands where they were, cupped over his groin. He was completely stark naked.

"They're auctioning me off," he repeated. "Did you know they've already had more than three hundred bids? They're saying that they think I might get the highest bid for any unclaimed male ever!"

She snorted. Trust him to sound pleased about it! "For cryin' out loud," she muttered. "Stay here and I'll get this sorted out."

"Where am I going to go?" he pointed out, then called after her as she crossed the open market, "See how high the bidding has gone while you're there!"

She spotted a tall, silvery-skinned alien woman wearing the biggest, shiniest hat out of all the others, adorned with bright, neon-colored feathers and floating, sparkly spangles. All of the action seemed to be revolving around her, so that was where Donna headed.

I swear, she thought as she shoved and bustled her way through the lively crowd. He really does need a keeper, sometimes!

So she would just have to give him one, immediately, if not sooner, judging from the argumentative sounds of the bidding.

"Listen here, you hens!" Donna bellowed loudly enough that the entire raucous bunch went silent in surprise. "He's not an 'unclaimed male,' so you can just give him back his clothes and keep your filthy thoughts to yourself. He's bloody well mine and anybody who wants him is going to have to go through me to get him!"

It took approximately one minute's worth of a tirade for them to be convinced that an angry Donna Noble could negate any price, no matter how extravagant, he might've fetched at auction. Two and a half minutes after that, he was hastily pulling on his blue pinstriped clothes, Converse, and coat -- after checking to make sure his glasses and sonic screwdriver were still safely in his pockets. Nine minutes later, they were dematerializing in the TARDIS.

His cheek-splitting grin, however, lasted for considerably longer.

5.

"Wow," Donna said breathlessly, buttoning the top button of her blouse.

The Doctor grinned, straightening his own askew clothing. "Yeahhhh," he drawled in a thoroughly self-satisfied tone. "Promised to give you a good time, didn't I?"

"That was bloody incredible," she agreed, raking her fingers through her disheveled hair. "Can we do it again?"

"I don't see why not," he said, stretching mightily. "Unless you need some time to recover?"

She snorted derisively. "Give it to me again right now, spaceman. I'm ready whenever you are!" Then she smacked his arm as the roller coaster car began to track up to the top of the steep hill once more. "Why didn't you tell me that the TARDIS has such an amazing amusement park hidden away in here? This is the best coaster I've ever been on in my life!"

"But, Donna," he said in dismay, his smug demeanor faltering as they reached the peak. He had to shout to be heard over her exuberant whoops of joy as they blasted down the steep plunge, racing towards the first loop. "Whaaaaat diddd yoooooooou thiiink abouttt ttthe sexxxxxxx?!?"

I've got you," you mutter under your breath, struggling to keep him on his feet, to keep him moving before they find you again. He'd probably end up with the shortest regeneration on record and you… Well, you wonder if he would blame himself harshly for your death or would this new Doctor – technically, new, new, new Doctor – shrug it off as an unfortunate but unavoidable bit of luck?

That's the thing he can't really comprehend, why you're afraid of regeneration. You understand it on a sterile, logical level: his cells change, his appearance changes, but inwardly he's still the same person.

But you've been through this before and your heart knows that's not entirely true. The Doctor in pinstripes wasn't just the Doctor in black leather with a different face and wardrobe. His memories were still there, yes. He still grabbed your hand and it somehow fit, still swept you into a bone-crushing hug at the slightest provocation, still grinned like a mad thing when he thought he'd done something particularly clever. Still loved rushing towards things that most sane creatures ran from, and he was still a maddening combination of open and closed, drawing you in even as he pushed you away.

It was like switching partners in the middle of a dance. You no longer could anticipate his next move, the easy rhythm between you was gone, leaving you stuttering along, suddenly graceless and lost and not knowing if the next turn would find him letting go and simply walking away.

You had learned to love the idiosyncrasies of the brown-eyed, pinstriped Doctor just as you loved those of the man in the black leather jacket who used to steal your breath with his piercing blue eyes. But it wasn't the same. It would never be the same.

You haven't even had the chance to see the color of his eyes, hidden in the unruly flop of dark hair half-obscuring his broader features. As soon as the golden lights finished consuming his freckled face and tall, skinny frame, devouring and remaking, you'd forced him to his feet, his arm heavy over your shoulder, your arm clenched desperately around his thicker, stockier waist.

"Run," you'd begged and heard seams split as the pinstripes tore when he staggered to comply. And you'd choked back a hysterical laugh because it was so surreal and absurd and he was gone even though you had him crushed to your side.

You hear them behind you in the maze of corridors but the TARDIS is in sight now. You would've sobbed aloud in relief but you're already worrying how you're going to hold him up while you're trying to get your key in the door.

But he's conscious enough to snap the fingers of his free hand as soon as you're close and the TARDIS door obligingly swings back.

You stagger inside and barely get the door closed before a metal spear thuds against it. More spears follow, their impacts louder and angrier, then fists are pounding on the door. It rattles, sounding as unnerved as you feel.

"'S all right. The TARDIS'll hold them off," you say, trying to sound confident, but there's too much of a question mark at the end of your sentence for your liking.

He's fighting to climb the ramp and you help him to the console where he spins dials and flips levers with shaking hands, moving like an old, blind man, striving to recall motions that are ingrained in his mind but not in these muscles. You spare a moment to scream in your head that he's going to teach you the basics of how to fly the TARDIS one of these days.

But the rotor starts to churn and the TARDIS grinds and wheezes its dematerializing song and the pounding outside the door cuts off, so he's managed to send you somewhere, somewhen. It doesn't matter now because his knees are crumpling out from under him and you summon another burst of strength from the last dregs of your reserves.

You get him out of the console room and moan thank you's under your breath that there's an open doorway with a neatly turned-down bed visible not four steps away.

They're four shaky, torturous steps and you're begging and cajoling and threatening and swearing with every one, trying not to let him collapse to the floor. You make it to the bed and he falls and, for a perilous moment, you sway on your feet, tempted to do the same.

But you can't leave him in these pinstriped clothes any more than you'd been able to leave him in the jacket, jumper and jeans the last time. As you struggle to undress the dead weight of his unfamiliar body, you tell yourself that you're doing it only to make him more comfortable. But you know the truth: it hurts too much to see a stranger in his clothes.

This time, you don't have your mum here to help, so it's slower going. This isn't the same man who put these clothes on and they fit all wrong, too tight here, too loose there, and your fingers are clumsy, like you're trying to undo an overly complicated knot.

You grit your teeth and keep going and find yourself mourning each hard-won piece of clothing you remove, knowing that this will be the last time you'll see them. You could never find that leather jacket anywhere in the TARDIS' expansive wardrobe, even though in the early days you'd often covertly looked.

You tell yourself that you don't care, they're just clothes. You tell yourself that the tears rolling down your face are from simple exhaustion.

By the time you have him down to his boxers and have managed to wrestle him under the covers, it's true: you are exhausted.

You don't even hesitate, you crawl onto the bed on the other side of him, on top of the duvet because you forgot to take off your shoes and don't have the will left to do it now.

You look at his profile and try to see him. God, he looks so young. You want to put your head on his chest and hear his hearts beating, just to close your eyes and hold onto him, to him for a little while longer. But all you do is fuss at the way the covers lay across his bare chest and arrange his nearest arm into a position that looks a little more comfortable. And then you pretend that you're not lying next to a man you've never seen before.

He can't understand how hard this is on you. He can't understand that it's not that you're hung up on his looks or some shallow thing like that. You're afraid that this man he's suddenly become won't fancy having a silly human for a companion anymore.

No. You know you're lying with that thought. You're not afraid of anything that vague, your fear is so much more specific than that, even though you like to think you're stronger than such a desperate, naked need.

Please still want me, you plead silently. Please don't have changed that much.

You curl your fingers around his and, somehow, your hands once more fit together like they always have. You don't know if that will be enough.

You close your eyes and let your mind wash away into darkness. When you wake, he's on his side, his hand still in yours and he's looking at you with an expression you can't read. Curiosity, maybe? Uncertainty? His eyes are hazel green under that persistent long fringe of hair.

"So," he says and the tenor of his voice is soft and surprisingly gentle. "Shall we try again for Barcelona? Go for a bit of tradition? Or does somewhere else strike your fancy?"

He winks and before you even know you're moving, you fling yourself into his arms and knock him onto his back with a breathless "oof." Tardily, you think that you may have hurt him, that he's still not recovered from the regeneration. But he only chuckles, a pleasant rumble under your ear that winds around the double-thrum of his hearts as he strokes your hair indulgently.

"Doctor," is all you can say before your throat tightens shut with too many words, too many sentiments and emotions trying to crowd their way out.

"Still your choice," he says quietly. "Do you want to go home?"

It takes a bit of courage to raise your head but the words won't mean anything if you can't even meet his eyes when you say them. You still can't find him in these broader, younger features, but then you realize you've seen that look in his eyes before, standing by the TARDIS as ash from the incinerated Sycorax ship rained down on you like bitter snowflakes.

"I made my choice a long time ago," you say and think of elegant creatures like manta rays soaring through a coral-colored sky. "Forever, remember?"

He exhales, a barely perceptible sigh, as if he's been holding his breath. He squeezes you hard, like he's afraid you'll vanish if he lets you go. "Okay, then," he says and you return his embrace.

For a moment, you could swear you're spinning together to a silent rhythm, relearning the steps, recapturing your grace as you smile tentatively at each other.

Maybe you were wrong. Maybe he's understood all along.

The prompt was "Nine in a lab coat sans leather jacket. Rose in nerd glasses in a dark wig and a lab coat. Undercover and stopping a evil plot."
Rating: R (light; for a bit of hanky-panky ;) )
Length: 1,225
Spoilers/warnings: None
Disclaimer: Not mine or you can bet there would've been happy endings for everybody!
A/N: Unbeta'ed, so all mistakes are mine. ;)

Rose surreptitiously adjusted her straight, shoulder-length black wig, then poked her thick, black-rimmed glasses back up her nose. "Next time," she muttered, "you can wear the disguise."

"I am wearing a disguise," the Doctor protested softly, giving his white lab coat a shake.

She rolled her eyes. His coat went nearly to the floor while hers just barely covered the hem of her white dress, which in turn just barely covered her rear.

"Besides," he continued, "if I would've spent an hour flirting with the megalomaniacal head of a corporation that was dousing the water supply with—"

"I didn't know he was a megalomaniac," she interrupted. "He seemed like a nice bloke."

He snorted derisively. "Well, at least we found the formula for the antidote to the toxin that nice bloke has been using to subdue his people and—"

He cut off as four guards came through the double doors at the far end of the hall. As they neared, he raised the clipboard he'd had tucked under his arm and indicated a stack of wiggly lines. "Precisely, Ms. Thatcher. We're clearly ready to advance to Phase Two."

As soon as the guards were out of earshot, she whispered, "'Thatcher,' seriously?"

"Well, it's not like they're going to recognize the name, now is it?" he said just as a klaxon screeched to life and the lights in the corridor turned red.

"Or maybe they will," he amended. "Run!"

He grabbed her hand as they bolted down the corridor but, to her surprise, he pulled her into a darkened room instead of making for the doors ahead of them.

"The exit—" she said as he closed the door and switched on the light, revealing a windowless laboratory with several rows of tall tables holding various scientific instruments.

"Going to be an entrance in a few seconds," he said shortly. "Ever been interrogated by a team of Arsarvian guards? Talk, talk, talk while they monitor your emotional state. One hint of guilt and there you have it, you're convicted."

As he spoke, he tugged her over to the nearest table, gesturing for her to help him move things out of the way. "And once they convict you, there's no parole, no appeals, no do-overs. Just a deep, dark hole in the ground that nobody's ever supposed to crawl back out of. Very unpleasant, don't recommend it."

"So how do you know what it's like if nobody's ever come back out of it?" she asked, trying to figure out what sort of clever thing he was going to build with a pile of empty beakers.

He gave her a quick hint of his usual manic grin. "Said nobody's supposed to. Didn't say they never had. Now, up we go."

He put his hands at her waist and, the next thing she knew, he lifted her up onto the spot they had just cleared.

"Doctor," she said, startled, trying to tug her short skirt down before she flashed her knickers at him.

"They'll be doing preliminary scans for nervousness," he said. "First sign of anything that pings as guilt, they'll take you in and give you the proper deep scanning. But we pass the test now and they'll let us walk right out. So, just got to make sure you're not transmitting guilt like a bloody radio tower."

"How?" She heard a noise from the hallway and started to turn but he caught her chin and urged her back to face him.

"Easy," he said, though there was a hint of uncertainty in his eyes that belied his casual tone. "You're going to transmit something else."

And he kissed her.

His hands smoothed down her back, pulling her closer as his mouth moved on hers in a leisurely fashion, as if he had all of the time in the universe just to explore the curves and shapes of her lips.

For a shocked moment, she didn't respond, then her palms skittered across the unfamiliar heavy weave of the lab coat, up to caress the soft bristle of his close-cropped hair. She kissed him back a bit frantically at first, realizing that he was trying to stir something in her that was not "Yeah, we just stole your formula."

Then she forgot the ulterior motive and wrapped herself around him, giving herself over to the heated sensations the light strokes of his lips and tongue were eliciting. She barely registered the sound of the door opening behind her.

"What's going on in here?" a voice said sternly.

The Doctor straightened, gruffly saying, "Aphrodisiac testing, do you mind? We're just about to have a breakthrough."

Rose realized her glasses were askew, leaving her looking out of a lens with her right eye while the left lens was somewhere in the vicinity of her forehead.

"Look this way," the voice said and a green light scanned over the Doctor's face. "Clear. Now the young lady…? Look directly into the light, please."

She straightened her black-rimmed glasses and twisted around. Three burly guardsmen stood just beyond the doorway and the one at the front had a thick, cylindrical device pointed at her.

The Doctor's hand settled on her knee, the pad of his thumb rubbing small circles up under the short hem of her dress. Her breath hitched unevenly as the circles dipped along her inner thigh, rising slowly, steadily, until he was brushing the edge of the knickers she'd tried so hard not to flash at him a few minutes earlier.

The green light flared and she blinked madly, but it was his feather-light touch that had her gasping, staring blindly into the brightness as she tried not to covertly grind against his fingers.

"Clear," the guard announced. "Carry on. Good luck with your, uh, 'breakthrough.'"

As the door shut, Rose heard the guardsmen snickering but, frankly, at that moment she didn't care so long as the Doctor didn't stop what he was doing.

The Doctor stopped what he was doing.

"All right then," he said, stepping back. "Give 'em a few more minutes to move along then we can just stroll on out of here."

She barely kept from making an incredulous, disappointed noise and crossed her legs both to regain a bit of modesty as well as to try to assuage the throb between them. "Y—yeah," she said, striving to steady her voice. "Suppose that means that Phase Two is over then?"

"Yes, Rose," he said in a serious tone. "Phase Two is over. And you know what that means, don't you?"

Biting her lip and busying herself with straightening her wig, she fought to not show any reaction. "'Course I do," she said. Back to hugs and hand-holding and me wanting to shag you rotten and hoping that you don't see it but at the same time just wishing you would... "Back to normal, you and me, right?"

He waited a few long seconds, then gave her the broad, daft smile she adored. "Means that now we move on to Phase Three." The smile faltered slightly. "If... you want?"

She let him dangle for a bit as she pretended to think it over while her heart happily raced. "I'll keep the wig if you keep the lab coat," she finally bargained, grinning.

"Deal," he said and winked as he helped her down from the table.

With a loud pop, he blew a small, blue-tinted ice cube up into the air, then caught it deftly between his teeth. He grinned at her, crunching loudly.

Donna pushed her sunglasses up higher on her nose and debated whether or not to pretend she didn't know him. There were no other patrons in the cute outdoor bistro and the only movement came from the tall, celery stalk-shaped natives passing by on the street level. Several leafy bits swayed in their direction, peering at his antics over the partial wall, and she wasn't sure if the wildly ruffling fronds meant they were aghast with the horror of broken etiquette or were simply laughing at the silly tourists.

Probably not the first time he's amused the celery, she thought, stirring the remains of her fruity drink with a swizzle stick. The Doctor's drink was long gone, leaving him with a tall glass of blue ice cubes to amuse himself with.

"Donna, watch this one," he said and blew the next cube even higher. Tilting his chair precariously on two legs, he managed to snag it out of the air, though it hit the back of his throat with a strangled gulp and set off a round of spluttering and coughing as his chair thumped loudly down.

"You're going to choke yourself to death," she scolded, patting him briskly between the shoulder blades.

"Nah," he demurred as soon as the fit passed. "Just misjudged the trajectory a bit. I bet I could juggle three, do you want to see?"

Before she could object, he tossed a trio of cubes into his mouth, giving himself chipmunk-cheeks as he tipped his chair back, preparing to launch them up. Donna leaned over to snatch the glass out of his hand, accidentally kicking the chair leg as she did—

—and his mouthful of ice was ejected in a curving arc that ended with a plunge straight down her décolletage.

"Ohhh, what a shot!" he exclaimed with a victorious fist-pump. "And I wasn't even trying!"

She yelped, sinking down in her seat as she tried to covertly shove her hand up under her blouse and get a hold of the slippery, rapidly dissolving ice. Beyond the wall, she saw several leafy celery fronds lose all of their ruffles and go ram-rod straight. "I can't believe you—"

A loud crackling noise suddenly rose up from between her breasts and she and the Doctor shared a startled look.

He immediately stuck his hand down her blouse without so much as a "Bob's your uncle" and fished out one of the slivers of ice as she got a hold of the others from underneath and slung them away. He touched his tongue to the wet remains on his fingertips.

"Ah-hah," he said. "Your warmer external body temperature triggered a chemical reaction that's—"

"Oi!" she exclaimed, coming up out of her chair as the crackling grew more pronounced.

"Don't panic," he said, holding up his hands in a placating gesture. "It's a perfectly harmless auditory phenomenon. Just…enjoy it!"

She stared at him until he edged a finger in his collar. "Enjoy it?" she repeated, mouthing each syllable distinctly. "It sounds like my—" she couldn't decide on an appropriate euphemism to use in front of him and the celery gathering with noticeable interest at the nearby wall. She finally just cupped both of her hands in front of herself "—are setting off firecrackers! Exactly how am I supposed to enjoy that, spaceman? How long is it going to last?"

"Um, not long," he said, none-too-covertly sliding out of her reach as his words came faster. "Not more than a few hours at the very most and, you know, if we want to see the sun setting over the Ezezruma Crystal Mountains, we really should get to walking! Won't that be interesting? An entire mountain range lighting up like… No? But that's why we came, after all and…"

She crossed her arms over her chest, which barely muffled the popbangcrackles! coming faster and louder from her breasts. Then she deliberately looked from him to the glass of ice then back at him again.

"Now, Donna, my lower core temperature and different biological makeup might cause an entirely different—" he cut off as she inclined her head to the side and increased the intensity of her pointed expression.

He picked up the glass and shook it, rattling the blue ice cubes meaningfully. "You're right," he said, dropping his other hand to his waistband. "It's only fair."

The celery enthusiastically applauded.

They didn't make it to the Ezezruma Crystal Mountains by sunset, as a civil uprising occurred and an evil, leafy, celery-like tyrant had to be overthrown, but the Doctor promised they'd come back another time.

All-in-all, Donna felt that was for the best, considering it probably would've been difficult to appreciate the view, given the thunderous sound of fireworks emanating from her brassiere and the bright, colorful pyrotechnic display shooting out of the front of his trousers.

Donna commanded over the increasing rumble, pulling the Doctor into a dark side alley. She shoved him back into the shadows and took up a protective position in front of him.

"Donna, I had no way to know—" he began but she hushed him with a curt gesture. The rumble became a deafening roar as the screaming mob of females – and no small number of males – raced down the main street, fortunately oblivious to the detour their object of obsession had taken.

It took several interminable minutes for the entire crowd to pass by. Donna carefully poked her head out of the alleyway. "Come on," she said. "The coast looks clear."

She grabbed his hand and they ran for all they were worth back to the TARDIS. He quickly set new coordinates and got them underway, then sniffed himself speculatively.

"Smells like bananas," he reported, stepping towards her. "Want a whiff?"

She warded him off. "Not on your life, Martian boy. I'm not taking any chances that that junk is going to start working on humans! Now, get yourself into a shower and then into some fresh clothes before we land and you set off another riot with the next bunch of natives!"

He grinned as she made shooing gestures at him. "All right, all right," he said when she started eyeing the nearest mallet hanging on the console. "I'm going."

"And I hope you learned your lesson," she called after him as he left the room. "The next time somebody offers to spray you with a perfume called 'Irresistible,' just say no!"

She lingers in the doorway, her bare toes, barely visible under the cuffs of her pink pyjama bottoms, poke uneasily at the metal edge of the floor grating.

"You were gone," she says without preamble, fingers twisting the hem of her oversized t-shirt. "There was fire and then… you were gone."

Something about the mention of fire disturbs him – he knows all too well what it's like to be engulfed, to be remade, reshaped, and reborn, but there's no way that Rose can know that. "Just a dream," he tells her. "See, I'm right here. Go back to bed. You know you're rubbish if you don't get your full eight."

She nods, takes a step back, but pauses expectantly. He sighs as if it's a great imposition but knows the smile tugging at the corner of his mouth is giving him away as he crosses the console room. She takes his hand as soon as he's in reach and he squeezes her fingers.

"Come on, now," he says and leads her back to her room. He would've left her at the door but she puts her other hand over his before he can disentangle himself.

"You'll stay, won't you?" she says.

For a moment, he's not sure what she's asking. Stay can mean oh so many things in this instance. But he chooses to interpret it innocently. "Considering it's my TARDIS, you can be sure I won't be turning the keys over any time soon," he says jovially. "It was a bad dream, Rose. That's all. Just a bunch of neurons clanking together in that head of yours."

He raises his other hand, intending to teasingly rap his knuckles against her forehead, but instead he finds himself smoothing back her tangled hair. And then he has an armful of warm human, her grip around his waist surprising strong, like she's determined that nothing in the universe can pull them apart.

"Doctor? You'll stay?" she repeats more firmly, though her voice is muffled in his jumper.

He puts his arms around her, knowing now what it is that she wants him to say. He can feel milliseconds ticking through her, the whole of her life little more than a brief flicker against the vast canvas of all of time and space. And he's hardly better – he's nearly as jeopardy-friendly as she is in his own way. This incarnation, the he that he is right now, isn't likely to survive unscathed for much longer than she can. Forever isn't a promise either one of them can truly keep.

"I'll stay," he says. "Always." And he seals the lie with a tender kiss to the crown of her head.

I found some nifty new stock pictures at Wallpaperstock the other day so I decided to make myself a couple of wallpapers. They're nothing fantastic but I thought I'd share anyway. ;) 'Cause you know my LJ is like a big fridge I like to tape my artistic endeavors to, lol! ;)

They're all 1024x768 because that's what shape my monitor is but on the off-chance anybody wants one of these in a different shape, just let me know the dimensions you need and I'll be glad to resize it for you! ;)

I wanted to do a Valentine's Ten/Donna wallpaper but ran out of time. But hey, love's for sharing year-round, right? :D Anyway, this one was just for silly fun. I'd planned on making a bunch more Ten/Donna wallies but my muse kinda gave out on me. The only muse I have who's more flighty than Rusty, Jessica and Veronica is my unnamed graphics muse! o_O She heads out for parts unknown and isn't heard from for weeks or months! :( ;)

This one is mostly the stock picture and was so pretty on its own I did very little to it, other than a tweak here and there. And, of course, I felt like it was really missing a certain element, which I just had to add in. ;)

This one took the longest and I kept going back and jazzing up the frame but, when all was said and done, I think it looks best with it plain. Also, I like to have places for my icons to go where I can see them and since I made these to be functional for myself, ;) I decided to leave it. ;)

Annnnnd that's it! ;) Thanks for looking! ♥!
